CBD, or cannabidiol, is non-intoxicating and has tremendous medical benefits. It’s found throughout nature—in green vegetables, pine trees and other plants, and even our own bodies. Seventh Sense products are crafted with 100% hemp-derived CBD, to help our customers get the highest quality for the greatest wellbeing.
There are two types of cannabinoids: Endocannabinoids (which are made by your body) and Phytocannabinoids (which are found in plants). These fatty acids act as a neurotransmitter, which simply means they act on the nervous system—mostly in the immune cells.
Ready for a simple science lesson? The Endocannabinoid system is a network of molecules, receptors, and enzymes in the human body that’s peppered with CBD receptors. These receptors bind with the CBD to either enable or inhibit a synaptic response, which creates an effect in the body. Neurons communicate with one another at junctions called synapses. At a synapse, one neuron sends a message to a target neuron—another cell. At the core—it’s how our cells communicate and CBD can have an impact.
You’ll notice that the terms are used somewhat interchangeably—which can be confusing. CBD is one type of hemp extract, but hemp extract isn’t necessarily CBD. Some hemp extracts contain other cannabis constituents (there are more than 100). There are other constituents believed to have therapeutic benefits like CBD. Neither CBD nor hemp extract have intoxicating or psychoactive effects.
Hemp and marijuana belong to the same species: Cannabis Sativa. Unlike Marijuana, hemp has high levels of CBD and very low levels of THC (the intoxicating/psychoactive compound). Our CBD is 100% hemp-derived and contains less than 0.3% THC, consistent with applicable law.
While these two plants come from the same species, their chemical makeup is a bit different. Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) has long, sturdy stalks and leaves and a high concentration of CBD with and a low concentration of THC. Marijuana (Cannabis Indica) is conversely a shorter, heartier plant with a high concentration of THC and a lower concentration of CBD. In other words, marijuana has an intoxicating effect (the feeling of being “high”) while hemp does not.
We lead with solutions and provide you with education to help you better understand the benefits of CBD. Before giving our products a try, do your own research to feel empowered to choose the right CBD product for your specific needs.
In recovery? It might be best to avoid CBD. It’s in close proximity to other substances that alter your mood and mind. If you’re genuinely curious about it, we recommend you speak with your treatment provider.
No. CBD has no psychoactive effects and cannot and will not get you high. THC is the only cannabis constituent with an intoxicating effect.
There are no known side effects of CBD.
With that being said, everyone is unique. We always recommend you carefully read the ingredients on our products to ensure you are staying clear of known allergens or factors that could cause irritation.
